His undergraduate degree was also from UNC-CH and he worked in computer systems sales, software development and support prior to pursuing physical therapy as a self-fulfilling career.
Brian has been working in private, orthopedic based practice for his whole career, and has had his own practice since 1999. Brian’s areas of interest in physical therapy are broad, but he has a particular focus on spinal dysfunction, chronic pain, endurance athletics, martial arts and anyone who is not satisfied with a ‘just live with it’ answer to the problems they are having.
An avid cyclist, he enjoys almost any outdoor activity, and regularly presents talks and workshops related to cycling injury management, prevention and performance improvement. His interests also include many movement arts and healing techniques. A student of the Magic Tortoise Taijiquan School since 1997 and of the Feldenkrais Method since 1995, he is currently enrolled in the training program to become a licensed Feldenkrais Professionl in 2006 and received his accreditation to perform Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons in 2004.
In 2003 Brian was able to actualize a 10-year dream with the opening of the current Carrboro location of Balanced Physical Therapy is a space shared with Balanced Movement Studio, owned by his dear wife, Elizabeth. He invites everyone to stop by and have fun being active.
